When performing a brake job on a Mk7 GTI or Golf R, you will need to properly torque the bolts (and replace if torque-to-yield) to ensure proper assembly.

Front Brakes[edit | edit source]

  • Rotor set screw: 3 ft-lb (4 Nm)
  • Brake caliper carrier to spindle: 148 ft-lb (200 Nm) - Clean if reusing
  • Brake caliper to carrier sliders: 26 ft-lb (35 Nm) - Replace

Rear Brakes[edit | edit source]

  • Rotor set screw: 3 ft-lb (4 Nm)
  • Brake caliper carrier to spindle: 66 ft-lb (90 Nm) + 90° - Replace
  • Brake caliper to carrier sliders: 26 ft-lb (35 Nm) - Replace
